System Slow Down!

With in the last couple of updates... I have noticed that DVD's and any video Podcasts are all freezing up. The play for a short while and then it freezes, then continutes for a few seconds, and freezes again... this continues all throughout play. Everything use to play beautifully but recently I just can't video to play smoothly. Any suggestions as to what I should do? Thank you!

I'd restart first and if it's still happening, then I'd check Activity Monitor (check All Processes, not just the default My Processes) to see if there's an app taking up a lot of CPU cycles or RAM.
