I am running macOS High Sierra version 10.13.3 and have very little on my hard drive, but my system is using up almost all of my hard drive space. How do I remove it?? Help!!!

Do standard disk clean ups first. Empty Trash. If you running Time Machine ensure backups complete. These both can get categorized as "System". Open a terminal window and run: sudo du -hs /.MobileBackups to see you backups.

If that does not help start looking for folder full of files. In the finder create a new window. Go to View | Edit View options. Check the Size box. Then start looking at various folders. The options will show the size of all of the files in a folder.

The exihbit you have attached shows 80 GB free out of 121, which translates to 40 GB of storage being used. I'd say that 30GB of space for system and 10GB for other data, is not unusual. I don't hink your running out of space .
