On the very slim chance that Apple has decided to take it's customers feedback seriously instead of flying off into delusions of grandeur and fantasies of it's own awesomeness.. (Stage Manager? pffft) I decided to once again let myself meander down the familiar road of pondering on the efficiency and eye comfort level that could be.

I am once again endeavoring to adjust the font size across all Folders in Finder, and once again finding that it can't be done. But we went to the moon over 50 years ago using a computer with less computing power than the first iPhone... or so the story & the tall tale goes. Right. So why can't Apple increase the Font size across all Folders?

If I had to guess I'd say it can, it just doesn't want to. It doesn't see the point in adding actual value for it's customers. If I had to guess I 'd say that the more impressive and dazzling it's displays and shows of ingenious tech become, the less useful it's OSs are. Are we all so impressed with the shiny slick ads and copywriting that we hardly notice how inconvenienced we have become in our everyday workflows? No not really.

Sonoma introduces a new Accessibility feature:
Accessibility>Display>Text Size

I wish Apple would add News and a few other apps to the list, though!

I'm on Ventura 13.4.1 and I'm not seeing any Text Size option in Accessibility>Display. Could you please upload a screenshot of the screen before you open that Text Size window?

And let me know what version you're running? Thanks.

Here's what I"m seeing:

May be a Sonoma feature. 1st link is pulldown for Ventura, 2nd is Sonoma.

I'm on the shipping version of Sonoma (14.0), my apology for mis-typing in my original post–I meant to say SONOMA, not Ventura. Here is what I get in Sonoma:

command+j in finder and you can select the text size for all folders.
if that is what you meant? …

Yes lowering the resolution increases the font size but it bothers me that everything else is increased too. It gives the feeling that I'm sitting too close to the monitor, and looks child-like.

However you've prompted me to give it another try and I'm thinking I can make a few tweaks and possibly make it work. At any rate it looks like that's the only option unless I install Sonoma.

Thanks for your input.

I should have clarified in my original post that I meant the file names inside the folders; in the List view for example. But I guess I was too busy expressing my useless resentment against Apple lol.

Enlarging the folder names on desktop has helped though. I appreciate your feedback.

Oh thank you! Was that there all the time in Ventura and I didn't notice? I have Sonoma now

This increases the text size in the list, but not the sidebar, but hey, I'll take it

No, it's a new feature in Sonoma. As for the sidebar, all you can do is change the setting to use large text, which still isn't very large.
