System wide new background colour

I wondered if there is a way to change the white background for all windows and apps. I know there one for Mail and Finder, could not find any for Safari and have more applications, so it would be a hard work to do it one by one. In System Preferences there is only the option to have it all white on black. But this is not what I need.
