Carrier T-Mobile AIUP

Those of you who upgraded from the iPhone 7 to iPhone 8 on the AIUP with T-Mobile where you able to reserve a phone for store pickup?
Or did you have to pay full price and than pickup in store and switch back to the AIUP?
I have not gotten a straight answer about how this works for T-Mobile AIUP customers just wanted to know my options for the iPhone X.

if you are an existing IUP customer (including tmobile), you can reserve your phone online and either have it delivered or picked-up.

The only ones that need to go to the store are new IUP tmobile enrollments.
