I'm hoping someone else has run into this problem and perhaps has a solution. I purchased my daughter an Apple Watch SE. She does not have an iPhone and it is currently configured under the family setup. We went to the T-Mobile store and they set the line as "Mobile Internet" and entered in the EID. When we attempt to enable Cellular on the watch we receive the following error "It looks like the watch was set up with a incompatible plan." I have now spoken to FOUR T-Mobile reps who all insist the device is set up properly. They now have a ticket opening with their engineering team, but after hours wasted I'm not feeling confident. I've received 9 texts so far this evening confirming that my line has been paired. I'm not even certain if the mobile internet line NEEDS to be paired with my own line to work?! I would love to hear any feedback T-Mobile users may have. I am on a "T-Mobile ONE All In" plan if that makes any difference.

Do you have a T-Mobile cellular watch assigned to your iPhone? I wonder if you can’t set up a family cellular account as the first watch. T-Mobile has changed things from when I first signed up with the Series 3. They used to require an app called Digits. I just checked it and now doesn’t know anything about my Apple Watch even though the Watch app lists a separate number for the watch.

Welcome to early adopter status. They’ll figure it out eventually. You might need to get a tier 2 Apple support person involved in a conference call.

My primary watch does not have cellular, so hers would be the only with the option. I did immediately receive a notice about 'Digits' when they entered her EID. No details about it though, just that I now had access. At least I was able to place her on the home wifi so she could tinker with all the features.

You might try downloading the app to see what it says. Like I said though, my Apple Watch isn’t listed any longer so I don’t know what that means.

In the event someone else runs into this same problem with an Apple Watch SE, I wanted to provide the solution! After too many hours to count worth of phone calls (though their support was very pleasant) it was discovered that in order to add Cellular to an Apple Watch SE that is setup on the Family Account, it must be added as a Stand Alone Mobile Internet Line. The typical way to add Cellular to an Apple Watch through TMobile is to pair it with a telephone number already active on the account. This will not work, even if your own watch does not have Cellular. Family Setup watches must have their own telephone number. Not a single one of the 611 support technicians had any idea this was required. I wound up with an Engineer before we got it fixed!
