I was just looking at the new product build specs and T-Mobile is offering free Cellular service for iPad Air up to 200MB.

I'm shocked!

Wow kudos to T-Mobile for offering 200MB a month for free. They are undermining the $15 ATT charges for 250MB of data. I might get the celluar version too.

thanks for posting the link.

Looking at my Cellular usage for my ATT iPad, I run about 200mb a month using it to just browse when I'm on break at work and out.

I think this is the way to go for me, unless the others can step up.

Wow, T-mobile just keeps stepping it up to the next level. Good deal.

I love how TMobile is just killing it out there - CEOs of other carriers are probably losing sleep.

Everyone else on other carriers should be happy too - this is going to force carriers to change their practice and better the industry as a whole!

Never thought about getting a cellular ipad in the past before but i think this is well worth it.

Love competition, now come on Verizon and AT&T make your move, or I'll make mine to T-Mobile.

I saw that on apple.com as well.

We have all ATT phones, and old Ipad. Might get new one with T-Mobile. I really do not need to download much to ipad.

But - if I ever want to switch to ATT data plan... can I do that?

It's 2 years on the HP laptops that have built in broadband and there's a method to add additional usage when you use up that 200MB during any given month.

Cheers,

Huh?

I thought the 200mb is per month, or something like that?

think it will be like the iPhone 5S and the verizon model work on everything but sprint? Because I usually buy verizon ipads and will this time but ill def try the free data to see how t-mobiles network is around here. might be able to save the $30 a month.

This is an amazing deal. Made me go from for sure buying Wi-Fi only to seriously thinking of getting the T-Mobile edition!

200MB is a great amount for that one or two days in the month you find yourself with crappy wi-fi at a cafe or on the road or something. And being FREE (other than the $129 one time charge) makes it lucrative. If you keep your new iPad for 24 months that's just $5 a month more.

Not to mention you get the GPS chip in it for that price too... unless they changed it up and didn't mention it the Wifi model won't have the GPS chip.

According to that specs sheet, the GPS is only for the Cellular model indeed.

Basically, for $129 more you get a new 9.7" GPS system (since you can use the free 200MB monthly to make it usable). Not a bad deal thinking of it that way!

What would really be amazing is if the data would be allowed in international countries, like their phone plans are now.

this would be my sole purpose in buying an ipad... i wonder if its going to apply to tablets?

There is only one model. The iPad is unlocked and works with all carriers. Buy whichever you can and swap in a carrier SIM you want to use.
