has anyone had this problem with t-mobile ?

you are connected to LTE doing LTE stuff. maybe just idling or maybe listening to music , and you want to check your data plan / minutes so you pick up your iPhone and you dial #932# or #646#

it knocks my iPhone 6+ to 4G speeds. and it stays slowed down from 20 second to 5 minutes before it decides to try LTE again

this isn't a cosmetic issue, with the screen, the speed is actually been slowed down

if lte settings are set to DATA ONLY , the phone can stay connected to 4G to 20 seconds

if lte settings are set to DATA & VOICE, the phone takes an average of 1 minute and 15 seconds to come back to LTE. maybe as long as 5 minutes

putting in airport mode does not restore LTE
reset network settings did not help
reseeding the sim card did not help either
rebooting iPhone does bring back LTE but does not prevent it from going to 4G

apple was stumped , all they could say is for me to contact my carrier to have my account reprovisioned

tmo is stumped they said to call apple

they gave me a direct # to an iPhone specialist

just out of curiosity why would you want to check your data or mins when tmo is unlimited...

In some areas, LTE is for data streaming only. When you call, it reverts to 4G. They are updating the towers so in places like Philly or NYC, its not an issue. My guess is that there is something with your location and how the phone handles different tasks when connected to LTE.

Just a guess. I only notice this during phonecalls.

FYI, I just tried this, and it knocked me to 4G for minute and then went back to LTE. So it's definitely not just you. There must be something about their networking provisioning, or the codes just aren't enabled to work under LTE.

Nope, that's not it. VoLTE is enabled network-wide on T-Mobile.
