So i finally got my iphone, last year i got my no contract tmobile iphone 5s and right after I get back home I restore it and it shows a Congratulations message which says that my 5s is unlocked.

This time I tried with my iphone 6, nothing shows up =(

I dont have any extra sim card I can try on..so I can only rely on the Congratulations message..so does that mean my iphone is locked? or is there other way I can check if my phone is unlock or not?

I you bought it from Apple and you paid full price, it's unlocked.

If you bought it from Apple, it is unlocked.

I purchased the T-Mobile contract free one on pre-order day and received it today. Popped in my AT&T sim, turned it on, and I am good to go. Works great.

I tested with another international card and it showed as AT&T on a t-mobile phone on apple.com order paid full price for it.
So it is unlocked i also didn't get a congratulation message with iPhone6

When you restore you set up as new phone right?

What carrier SIM card did you have in it when you restored it?

ATT and after that Tmobile

Alright, so if i pop in an att simcard to the new Tmobile carrier free iphone, it'll be unlocked, that's for sure.
Does anyone know if I can then try a Tmobile simcard after that and get it working with Tmobile for some time and then go back to att, without issues? I know it sounds weird but I actually need to do that. It shouldn't be a problem, but has anyone tried it this year? Or maybe last year with the 5s?

thers a huge thread about this already....

however someone did already put in an ATT sim then Tmobile and back to ATT with no issue

iPhones are very simple nowadays...

Its either unlocked or not. Bought from TMobile=Not unlocked
Buy it from Apple = Unlocked

Not so fast, i bought an att iphone from apple today (paid in full) and when i popped in my new tmobile sim card it did not work. told me phone could not be activated because the sim was invalid.

You have to ask AT&T to unlock it for you because it's yours!
