T-Mobile has announced a third "Un-carrier Unwrapped" holiday promotion that offers AT&T customers a 128GB iPhone 6s for the same price as a 16GB model, which is a $200 savings.

The offer is valid for AT&T, GoPhone and Cricket postpaid and prepaid customers that switch a phone number to a T-Mobile Simple Choice postpaid plan between December 4 and December 13.

AT&T customers can combine the offer with T-Mobile's Carrier Freedom promotion, which provides up to $650 towards a balance owing or to pay off early termination fees (ETFs) with an eligible device trade-in.

T-Mobile is also offering AT&T customers that switch up to half off its lineup of financed in-store accessories:
That could mean as much as a $125 discount on the hottest mobile gifts, like the latest smartwatches, UE Boom and JBL Bluetooth speakers, top-of-the-line headphones, Fitbit fitness trackers, Guitar Hero Live for iOS and more.
This limited time offer is part of T-Mobile's monthlong "Un-carrier Unwrapped" holiday promotion that began with three months of free unlimited LTE data for all Simple Choice postpaid customers and a $200 bill credit for Sprint customers.

T-Mobile plans to unveil additional "gifts" over the next few weeks, with a new gift coming at least once per week. T-Mobile CEO John Legere recently confirmed on Twitter that Verizon customers will receive their "Un-carrier Unwrapped" gift soon.

T-Mobile also recently announced that Music Freedom now supports 11 new services: Aud.io, Dash Radio, DatPiff, Jango, KCRW, Noon Pacific, Radio Danz, SomaFM, Spinrilla, StreamOn and TuneIn Premium.

That's a pretty decent incentive, especially when you consider the lower rates and that they pay your early termination fees. I'm very much interested to see what they offer Verizon customers. Maybe some data plans with increased amounts for the same price? That would make me more likely to switch. I still need to do a test drive of their network in my area. How does that work—can I just pick up a sim for my unlocked 6s? It would be ideal to test over the holidays since we'll be going home and that's the place we travel to the most. Hopefully that upgraded 4" iPhone has the newer cell chip that uses their 700MHz spectrum so my wife can take advantage of the improved coverage.

I'm going to T-Mobile today. They are killing the market with their promotions. Also I get to test out their service for no early termination fees. I love it. Bring on the competition

I was on the fence about switching and ended up borrowing a SIM from someone I knew (they had an unused line with the buy-4-for-the-price-of-3 promotion that was eventually going to be used, but didn't need it at that moment) - I threw it in an unlocked iPhone 5 and used that while visiting family over Thanksgiving and also at work (my 'daily driver' is an iPhone 6, so I wouldn't be able to take advantage of 700MHz in my area).

T-Mobile's prepaid plans are cheap and can probably give you a feel for things - looks like you could get a decent test for a week for about $14 (99¢ SIM + $3 voice/text + $10 week data pass): http://prepaid-phones.t-mobile.com/pay-as-you-go If you're in more of a hurry, I think Best Buy sells their SIM starter kits for $5.

I've test TMobile's service in the past and it's been consistently superior and more reliable than ATT. Only place it didn't work was Orlando. Very tempting. I hate ATT's service, but I like their customer service and at least they get my bill right. I'm tempted to do this, but I fear change.

Get a prepaid activation kit (cheap on eBay, and sometimes available for 99 cents from T-Mobile), then activate their $30 (can find $30 refills for $25~ on eBay) plan that includes 100 minutes, unlimited texting, and 5GB pre-throttled data.

Where in Orlando was this. Or rather, how long ago was this?

In the past, when t-mobile introduced something that was a market changer, the other carriers would counter it with their own offer to keep customers.
With the t-mobile no data usage for streaming music offer and now this, I would have expected AT&T and Verizon to at least follow suit with the zero data for streaming. Why nothing?

well, i would have preferred the sprint gift...just give me more money. i am fine with a 32gb phone

Agreed. Or let me choose how to apply that $200 savings. Maybe I'd rather get a 64GB 6S+ for the price of a 16GB 6S? Maybe I'd rather split the difference by getting $100 off a 64GB 6S and a $100 bill credit?

EDIT: Actually, seems it is just a bill credit. "Promotions applied as bill credits; must be active and in good standing when credits are applied. iPhone Upgrade via $200 bill credit; may take up to 90 days."

I had trouble with T-Mobile when I lived in Orlando as well. While it worked fine most of the time, I occasionally had to restart my phone because I'd lose coverage. When the phone rebooted I had full coverage again. I've never had that problem in any other area.

I thought it might have been my phone, but I went to Orlando last year (first visit since 2009) with a different phone and had the same issue. Very strange.

I am somewhat recent convert and I have now moved the rest of my family over to t-mobile. Their coverage has greatly improved and worth the switch over. I don't know what's going on but at a job site today I was pulling 90 down and 20 up!

Never seen speeds like that. It's only a few miles from my house.

This isn't a gift. This is a loss leader. Give something away now at a reduced price to make up for it in the long run.

Deep down I knew TMO wasn't going to give any "gifts" that didn't require switching.

I read the T-mobile news release on this and it specifically says "the world's top-selling smartphone". I can not find where it says iPhone 6s. In the fine-print it mentions iPhone Upgrade but it doesn't mention what model. Can anyone point me to where it actually says 6s?

Why would they give actual gifts to someone that's not going to be their customer??

Because they have given away stuff in the past. Additionally, their original press release said they, "have presents" for customers of other carriers.

"we know that Verizon, AT&T and Sprint customers need some holiday cheer, too - so we’ve got presents coming for them. Just wait!”

This implies you get a present, but don't have to switch. The wording is awful. It should be called an incentive, not a gift, because its really not a gift. False advertising.

Man, are people falling for this? They're just trying to hook you in for your monthly bill.

Agreed! T-Mobile is starting to show some signs of desperation.

Maybe if their service were as usable and consistent for me as ATT is everywhere I go or have been.

People tryin to be like why aren't all carriers doing what TMO is doing.

It's just like the comments in whole $5 ULDP controversy thread. Carriers were ill prepared for changes in data usage and it bit them in the butt. Now carriers are watching Magenta offer 99 Gimmicks and promos ( not there yet but you get it I hope ) and silently realizing TMO can't keep it up forever.

Sooner or later their bubble will burst and they will implode or self destruct from all these costly moves. That or the "Uncarrier" will need to resume acting like a carrier or lose the customers they've had to steal from others ( and maybe some long time holdout customers too )

For me I've been burned by TMO far too many times to EVER Give them another penny out of my pocket. I'll take them as a work phone when forced or a prepaid gift from family friends but only way TMO sees my wallet again is with a deal 10x better than this, give me the features and plans of the past I actually want, and maybe actually consistently work where and when I need it to w/o random non-transparent throttling

I have actually had this in Orlando with every major carrier (Sprint, Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile) and as has been said, only in the Orlando area, not sure what is wrong there.

Thinking about it now - 2 years ago TMO gave away free data for life (200MB) and because of that a lot of people I know ended up switching to TMO because it gave them the opportunity to extensively test the network before jumping ship. Something like that is a gift. Give away something for free and hope people will go to the source, but don't expect them to switch. That is a gift - this current "promotion" is a lie.

What makes you so deserving of a gift from T-mobile? Can't believe I have to spell it out this way, but you being born does not simply entitle you to a gift, albeit from a company you're not even a customer thereof.
