Hello Forum,

So an acquaintance sold me an iPhone 5S last night and i own a iPhone 4S that is on Sprint.

I have a pretty good idea that he purchased his phone from T-Mobile or it might be unlocked (there was no sim card in slot).

Can i request a Sprint nano Sim and use it with that? or i would also be open to getting a T-Mobile plan. Or can i cut my existing Sprint sim to make it nano?

Which would be the best option for me?

Thanks in advance!

do you know what wireless carrier your friend uses? if it isn't sprint, it's unlikely you'll be able to activate for use on your carrier. whether it's unlocked is another matter and largely depends where and how your friend purchased the iphone.

A Sprint iPhone can only be used domestically in USA on Sprint, no exceptions.

You cannot use any other carriers iPhone on Sprint.

If you think your friend bought the 5s from t mobile then it'll only work on tmobile UNLESS it was unlocked by t mobile. If unlocked then you can use any gsm carrier( ie carrier not named Verizon or Sprint).
