I have 5 lines with the (new not grandfathered)Verizon unlimited plan, and one line SIM I frequently use in my iPad. I can switch the SIM between the phone and there is no difference in data speed.

Does anyone know if I could do the same if the lines were on T-Mobile? I've searched a bit online and read that an iPhone line SIM will only generate throttles speeds no matter how much data was used on that line during that month.

Yes I know I can set up a dedicated tablet/Mobile account, but my objective is to keep the phone number with the SIM.

So, does anyone have experience with this? Can SIMS be switched back and forth between phone and tablet with no data difference on T-Mobile like there is on Verizon?

I did call two different stores and one said an iPhone SIM won't even work in an IPad - of sourse I know that to be false. The other said there would be a data slowdown

If I had a cellular ipad I'd test it out for you. All my ipads are wifi only.
See if you can find someone you know with Tmobile and pop in their sim inside your ipad for a few minutes to see if it works the same.
Or if someone here can check it out for the OP.

Ok, T-Mobile chat replied it was possible, but did not recommend to do it.... I'm not exactly sure what sure meant by that but she sure wanted to give me SIMS for 3.99 if I signed up now via chat. haha.

I'm at the office now w/o ipad, but I will like try a friends sim in it over the weekend.
