Was told by a Tmobile agent that the taxes on the simple plan is not as much as other companies due to paying for your phone upfront, etc. Any who, which plan do you have? $50/60/70, how much extra are you paying in taxes and what state are you in? Thanks

Don't have the T-Mobil iphone 5, but in my area of Florida (Dunedin), I pay a whopping 25.6% Taxes/Fee's each month on a fixed service plan. Of course some are State, City, Emergency 911 Fee's, and some are for low income people, and we pay for their free cellphones, and minutes. At the moment, I pay on $29.00 for a senior ctz discount for 200 minutes

Thanks. I figured I'd get some answers from April 12th iPhone owners especially since they tell you the total way before bill cycle ends. Keep me posted. I still have until the end if I need to upgrade.
That's great. By chance do you know your usual state tax on cellphones?
The guy did tell me it should be $10 in NYC.
State Service Communication Tax (part of the $9.28 total) is $5.37

I'm in NYC and I pay between $9 and $10 for the tax and fee charges on my phone bill.
That Tmobile agent didn't know what he was talking about.
The taxes on your monthly wireless service has nothing to do weather you paid your phone upfront or not.
Like you mentioned above they depend on the amount of your monthly bill. Its a set percentage and then your local and state taxes will vary from other users.
Tmobile should be able to give you a pretty close estimate on how much that will be per billing cycle.
The phone has no effect on your monthly payments because you are charged the sales tax on the full price of the phone when you make your down payment. The monthly $20 phone payments are a flat $20. Taxes/fees only come from the rate plan.
