I just switched from a Samsung Galaxy S21 to a new iPhone 14 Pro and I have a question re audio.
The Samsung did not have a built in DAC and so to be able to mount the phone on my gimbal and have my Rode mic work, I needed a T-shaped adapter with a DAC built in. The T-shape just meant the phone was not sticking out too far in the gimbal mounting bracket. The input was a female 3.5mm TRRS and I have a 3.5mm TRS to TRRS cable from my mic to the adapter.
Firstly, does the iPhone 14 Pro have a built in DAC? It will just matter whether I buy a T-shaped adapter with or without a built in DAC.
Anyone purchased such an adapter for an iPhone?
Secondly, will it still need to be TRRS at the phone connection end? I am assuming so. Ugreen had a decent enough one for the Galaxy, so hopefully they have a compatible one for the iPhone.
Any input gladly accepted
Thanks in advance
