Tablet flashing apps not working in Sierra/High Sierra

I think the apps might be too old and not supported.

I tried using heimdall and JOdin3 to flash and Samsung tab3

Neither app seems to work.

heimdall installs but does not show in applications.
JOdin3 will not install and reports error no compatible.

I have the firmware for the tab from Samsung and need flash as the tablet has corruption to OS.

Has anyone done this before?
