Tags in Finder showing time machine files

just recently I noticed that my tagged files are now including time machine files. In other words, multiple versions of the same document. When I look at the path they are on the external drive in backups under backup/iMac/date/Mac hd/users/user/library/mobile documents/com.apple~iCloudDocs/

any ideas how this happened or how I can undo it??

running latest version of Big Sur.
