Amazon today has a pair of discounts on both models of the 15-inch M2 MacBook Air, thanks to a few on-page coupons found on their product pages. Many of the notebooks can be delivered as soon as January 13, although some models do have delayed shipping estimates ranging into late January.

The 256GB 15-inch M2 MacBook Air is available for $1,049.99 in three colors, down from $1,299.00. There's a hefty on-page coupon worth around $152 that'll net you this second-best price, which is just about $50 higher than the previous record low price we saw over the holidays.

Note: You won't see the deal price until checkout.

For more storage, Amazon has the 512GB 15-inch M2 MacBook Air for $1,249.99 in two colors, down from $1,499.00. You'll again need to clip the on-page coupon in order to see this discount, and this is another second-best price on the MacBook Air.

Note: You won't see the deal price until checkout.

And here we go again!

RAM aside, as a hoarder, 256 is just as offensive to me as my current state would be well over that amount.

This is such a great deal!

...well, if you specifically need a Mac AND don't need anything memory-intensive AND don't need to store a lot of files in your laptop's storage (or don't mind paying more money for iCloud storage). And you want more power than the much-cheaper M1 can offer but not so much power that you need to wait for an M3 Air.

I don't know how many people fit those exact criteria, but this is probably the best deal ever for them.

all most people need.

Currently, yes, but how often are people upgrading the Macs? I kept my last one for eight years... Will 8gb be okay in eight years? I went ahead and got 16gb, even though I rarely need it.

That said, my work laptop (Dell 12th gen i7 with 8gb) does just fine, and it does a lot more heavy lifting than my Mac. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I feel like this is essentially the new MSRP. Likely due to the M3 model being only a couple months away...

M1 doesn't come with a 15" screen ;)

I doubt checking email, typing a report in Pages, or surfing the web will ever need any more than 8 gb. I have exported 4k video with an 8gb air so just call me Nostradamus

Using a 15" Air. Great Macbook. Even with M3 Airs launch sometime within the next 6 months, the current 15" Air is a great buy

SSD's hate this one trick. Seriously though. 8GB has been the minimum RAM config for nearly 10 years now. It's time to move on. Even if the performance feels OK, doubling that RAM to 16GB has huge performance benefits even for relatively simple tasks. Relying on Swap space for memory on a brand new computer is insane. 8GB is not enough for a new computer today, period.

not worth apple money for average people. If the RAM prices were based in reality, sure.

The money isn't the point though. It's a bad deal, yes. The criticism is with Apple even offering an 8GB option at all. They shouldn't be. It should be 12GB minimum today but 16GB would just be better as a minimum.

If 8gb is not enough for you, don't buy it. Why are you gatekeeping?
