Yes, Im charging through the wall adapter. Its taking 2.5 hours to go from 0 to 60% now. Its a bit much don't you think?

-Not in use while charging

-Plugged in via wall adapter

-I let the ipad drain until the power went out, then charged (full battery drain cycle)

I got mine yesterday and it was completely charged out of the box. I used it for about 11 hours before it died. Plugged in now via wall charger.

I imagine it would take a lot longer to charge if I were to use it right now.

All my PowerBooks and MacBook Pros from the past and present, and the iPhones, always take more than half the time of their battery usage life to charge. So if you can use the iPad for 9-11 hours, 4 hours to charge doesn't seem bad. Just plug it in overnight every night and you won't have to worry about it.

Honestly should this be bad? Considereing the 10hour + battery life

That's pretty good, I sleep longer than that so I won't notice it at all.

On top of that, I doubt it's going to need to be charged every day, much like my iPod touch; how many people are going to use their iPads for 10 hours each and every day?

Well of course it makes sense, the bigger the capacity of the battery the longer it takes to recharge. I don't know how much mAh it packs but the bigger it is the longer it takes to charge.. It's normal plus if you would somehow charge it faster that would harm the battery.

my iPad had a charge symbol when it was connected to my iMac.

As for taking 4 hours - no surprise. If you want the luxury of long battery life, you have to "pay" somehow. I don't see it as a big deal.

Which would you rather have - 3-4 hours of usage and then a 1-2 hour charge before it's 100 percent again or 10 hours and a 4 hour charge?

I might just return my iPad due to the long 4 hour wait for a full charge!

LOL!;)

You people need to get over it and just try to enjoy your iPad!

I plugged in a USB extension cable to my charger and after 8+ hours of charging, my iPad was at 60%?!? Removing the extension cable, my charge jumped from 60% to 82% in about an hour.

So what do you think that tells you.....?

I agree, 4 hours isn't long at all since most people can just leave it charging overnight and probably can get at least 2-3 days use out of it before it needs a charge. I know I'll use it mostly after I get home from work, and probably only around 3 hours a day then. I could then use it 3 days straight potentially and the night of the 3rd day just plug it in and I'll have 3 more days of use in the morning.
