I have a fast broadband (time warner road runner) connection and when i check my download it is estimating on avg 18 hours to Download?? WTH?? WHat is wrong and how can this be? by this rate i will have it tomorrow after work.

Any help? Thanks

oh and btw i have a late 2007 macbook. 2.0ghz processor 250hd and 4 gb of ram with nothing else running besides safari

Welcome to my world. This is how my downloads are 24/7 :) I'm just glad it'll be done by tomorrow. Some downloads take me multiple days!

But as Elven said, it's likely due to the demand.

well 4 hours later i am back from tennis and dinner and its on 12 hours! no way 3-4gb file should take this long!

Same story here. Looking at anywhere from 6 hrs to 19 hrs estimated time. That's after completing 1.36GB

All I know is that it took me less than 8 hours. I started it when I went to work this morning and it was ready to install when I came home.

I managed to download it for 2.5 hours via my iPhone 4 tethering 6GB Data plan lol!

I have a 2 MBps connection and somehow it downloaded in 26 minutes on both the iMac and MBP. 18 hours seems like a ridiculously long time.

i had mine download in like 1hr 30-45 mins . i have a near 1 MBPS connection.

EDIT: OP i would post your actual connection speed by going to speedtest.net and doing a speed test. if it isn't up to par for the speed you're paying for, then i would give TWC a call to see what is up. if it is up to par with your advertised speed, then i guess your speed isn't as fast as you though. ;)
EDIT2: op, i did some calculations, even conservative estimates state that i was pulling down at least .6MB/second. for it to take 20 hrs for you would indicate that your speed is about .4mb/s. not .4MB/s but .4mbps which is only about 10x faster than dial up which isn't saying much when downloading like 3.8GB.
