I bought a Refurb and all of a sudden my disk drive starts acting up.(I insert the disk but it doesnt take it, then after about 3 minutes it makes an ejection sound)

Would it matter if i installed a seagate Momentus XT?
Do they replace the whole laptop if it cannot be fixed?

1: Not really, the hard drive is a user serviceable part, HOWEVER from personal experience I would advise you to swap it out with the original for the trip. If they find the hard drive needs replacement, they would replace it with an original drive, and you'd be out the $120 or so you spent on the XT.
2:No, they will replace the part that's gone bad. In this case, it's probably the superdrive, so you'll get a new superdrive. If you have AppleCare though, and your machine fails 3 or four times *with the same issue* they might decide a replacement is doable in that case.
