Taking pictures under the hotspot

I use Camera+ most of the time. I love the aperture lock feature, which works in most occasions, but I can't make it work when there are people under a hotspot. It simply won't make it dark enough.

Have you guys found any way of making it work? Or an app that does it?

Normal camera app and tap the subject usually works

That is tapping the subject. I actually also tried with the normal camera app and it gave me the same results. Tried with my girlfriend's 4S and got the same overblown shot.

I haven't. That's a good idea. I'll give it a try.
