I have each series of the Apple Watch and got the 3 lte recently. I always get the sport. Have had most of the colors. This time I have the space grey sport. Some part of me suddenly wants the stainless steel. I always try the 42mm. I was thinking of upgrading for Christmas...but this seems wasteful. But once I have an idea in my head it is hard for me to stop. Worth it? I am a female and hardly ever see ladies with the stainless steel. Bad choice?

I'm a lady and recently upgraded from the gold aluminum AW2 to the AW3 SS w/LTE. I love the SS and know that any girly band I choose to buy in the future will look good with it.

I am also a woman and got my first Apple Watch this month. 42mm Hermès edition here. Love the stainless steel. Very happy with my Apple Watch!!

I’m a guy. There are 7 apple stores within 10 miles I frequent. I see many of the female Apple employees wearing SS watches including 42mm. They look good on women. Get what appeals to you and can afford.

Hey @tl01 given the quick annual cycle of the technology within the Apple watch. I would suggest you join me in the waiting queue for the next major Apple watch before splurging for the SS Model.

I caved a little a went for a Series 3 NIKE+ (GPS + Cellular) this year to take advantage of the new LTE cellular tech. I think next years Apple watch Series 4 would be a good time to splurge on the SS. I really like but simply can't justify the Edition (Ceramic) watch with the technology on such a rapid race to the future.

This is actually sensible. I like getting my apple stuff on day one... and then enjoying it until the next one comes out..... maybe I'll just be smart at the SS4.

There is nothing to indicate a significant change to the watch next year. You may be waiting for nothing.

There is nothing to indicate that there will not be a significant change to the watch for next year. The wait may be more than worth waiting for something great!

Since I left my crystal ball at work today, the future looks a little hazy for next fall.

I think the stainless model is very nice looking in general and can be paired with almost any band possible. I think it can be dressed up or down depending on your occasion, it's just a matter if you can justify the extra price point. But the real seller with the stainless model is the Sapphire display, which is highly scratch resistant over the Ion-X Glass on the Sport model.

There are already rumors about the next iPhones and upgraded AirPods for next year coming from supply line watchers and industry analysts. Nothing on the watch. I don’t have a crystal ball just my two cents. That and a buck fifty will buy you a cup of coffee. Lol

I always hear that! But knock on wood...I have been really lucky with my watches. I do have apple care plus but haven’t needed it. The displays have been fine. I think I’ll go for the SS with the next iteration.
