I recently shot a music video and watched the footage on that camera later on.
Today I took out a different camera to digitize with and the footage won't play back. The LCD screen is blue and the time code is 00 all across. The thing is, I can hear the tape whirring when I press fast forward or rewind but the timecode still remains the same. Does anyone know what's wrong?

What tape format did you use, what camera to record, what camera to play it back, what brand of tape did you use?

Most probably you shot with DV, so it might be, that you recorded the tape with DVCPro or DVCam or one of their variants, and the camera you want to play back the tape doesn't support those formats.

More information is needed, as we are capable of guessing, but there are too much possibilities.

It might be that you shot HD with an HD camera. But your playing it back on a camera that is SD (so the camera recorded HDV, but your playing it back on a device that only read DV).

Or it could be you recorded on a JVC camera and played back on another brand camera, or viceversa (recorded on another brand camera, and playing it back on a JVC camera). The magnetic heads are positioned different with the JVC camera's, therefore some camera's won't read JVC camera recoreded tapes.

Maybe you could give some more information.
