I have a quick question about using Target Disk mode when setting up a brand new Mac. We already have a MBP running Tiger and will be getting a Mac Pro with Leopard (initially....)

My question is: what exactly does TDM copy across when you get asked in the setup "Do you want to copy your files across from another computer?" (it's quite a while since I did this on a Mac, so can't exactly remember what the screen says!) - does it take literally everything, including Applications, preferences and documents, or just your documents folder?

Is it a good idea to do this with applications like Photoshop on the HD, or is it better to install those afresh?

Cheers :)
