So, please don't burn me on this but here goes:

I have a 13" MBP (2011) that i want to connect to an iMac (2011) via thunderbolt and use the iMac as display when i'm home.

i know it works bc i connected the MBP/iMac (both 10.6.8) and cmd+f2- no prob. the issue lies in that for whatever reason 10.6.8 absolutely KILLS my MBP battery- less than 3 hrs doin nothing but web browsing. flash? pft. forget about it maybe 2 hrs if that. i reinstall 10.6.7- and magically get back the 6-7 hr life, same usage no tweaks to explain the discrepancy. but no more target display mode.

I read a lot about the activity monitor and parallels 6 issues with 10.6.8 but neither are my issue. downloaded some updates from apple but nothing. I took it to apple and they were nice but found nothing wrong and no reason to exchange battery without me paying- and basically told me that its a non issue if its fixed in 10.6.8.

so. its me i know. but i need to download: Thunderbolt Software Update (Snow Leopard) Download ID: DL1452, without 10.6.8....

am i out of luck on this? and i know i'm reaching but i dunno- maybe someone has had this issue.

thanks to anyone that is able to help.
