Target's Black Friday Schedule

Target's circular this week confirms that most deals will be valid from this Sunday, November 20 through Saturday, November 26 (there are some exceptions with a few deals already going live today). All Target stores will be closed on Thanksgiving day, and will open at varying local times on the morning of Black Friday.

  • Sunday, November 20 - Online sales begin
  • Thursday, November 24 - Stores closed, online sales continue
  • Friday, November 25 - Specific opening hours vary by location
  • Saturday, November 26 - Target's Black Friday sales end

Target Black Friday - Deals Start 11/20

Target is offering a wide variety of discounts this season, ranging from video game consoles to kitchen appliances, TVs, Apple products, and more. We've divided up some of the major discount categories in the sections below, and remember that you won't see many of these sale prices until Sunday, November 20.

Video Games

Video games are always a popular category for Black Friday sales, and this year is no different at Target. Nintendo's annual Switch and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe bundle has returned in 2022, priced at $299.99 and including a three month Nintendo Online membership. Otherwise you'll find the usual collection of discounted games and accessories.

$250 for a Xbox Series S is bretty gud. Shame the Quest 2 isn't getting discounted but at least it comes with Beat Saber and Resident Evil 4 VR

...and I just bought AirPods Pro 2 from Amazon for $229. When am I going to learn to wait for Black Friday when the holidays are near??

The AirPods Pro 2 looks to be a hot holiday selling item with all these $199.99 deals.

Don't forget the 5% Target Red Card discount / 5% cash back from Discover Card using ApplePay. That's an extra $10 off.

Is the 9th Generation Ipad good? I'm confused on what these are because you got the regular Ipads and then the Airs and the Minis. I'm upgrading from a model from 7 years ago, and I know the Airs have the touch id on the power switch.

I suppose I could just return the ones I have to Amazon and wait for Black Friday. They work so well, though, that I hate to start over again. Decisions...

We're 1 week away from BF. If you are still within Amazon's return window on or a couple days past BF, hang onto the unit you currently have, buy a new pair from Target on BF, and initiate a return to Amazon afterwards, that way you can still use the ones you have now.

I thought of doing that. Does Amazon list serial numbers of all Apple devices? I know that they do for the Apple Watch, because I got my watch from Amazon and the serial number is listed right in the order.

Edit: They do list serial numbers for these, so that won't work. I guess I will just keep what I have. Sigh.

How did this article miss the 55" LG OLED TV Target is going to have on sale 11/20 for $800?!? That's a steal for a great TV!

Curious. In Canada, or in Ontario at least, the Black Friday sales started about a week or so ago. And some pretty good aggressive deals, too.

Guess they’re trying to get a good jump on the season…and trying to keep some business from going across the border.

Here in the states, that's called "Pre-Black Friday". :D

To be fair, due to the inflationary status of the American economy, retailers like Target and Walmart chose this year to offer weekly sales instead of Black Friday Doorbusters.

The idea being… If you spread out the sales over a longer period of time, there is a potential for people to buy more (even if they are pinching their pennies). How will that play out? Well, only the Q4 reports in January will tell us for sure. But, Target started these sales at the end of Q3 2022 and has reported a 50% reduction in profit for that quarter. So, I'm not real confident that this strategy is working.

If anything they might be lessening the crowds on the actual day of Black Friday—not a bad thing really.

But with early sales and, in Canada, Boxing Day sales going on for a week or more afterward into January those specific days start to look rather meaningless. Indeed since Black Friday has become a fixture in Canada the significance of Boxing Day (Dec. 26th) is diminishing.

Is there no more deals for 256 GB 9th gen iPads? Asking for a friend! (I got my 9th gen 64 GB last year).

Well, there's also the Pro line for iPads. Best way is to just look up some reviews/specs, and see if all of your desired features/specs will be met. For me, an iPad is just a glorified gaming device (I still have plenty of them leftover that I purchased on my iPod Touch 5, and 1st gen iPad Air that came out in 2013). I may also do some other stuff like surf internet*, but it's far from being a workhorse or a main device. As such, I just wanted the cheapest model possible, while keeping it $300 or less. I was able to get in on this Nov. of 2021.

I initially regretted not getting the 256 GB model (but I didn't want to pay an extra $150 :( ), as I thought I had enough storage, but free trial of Apple Arcade was the wrench in the works (some games eat up 2 to 10 GB apiece. However, I've been off AA for many months now, and while I haven't written it off (I may return to it, one day), I don't really miss it either since I have plenty of non-AA games to go through (both on iOS and Android), so the 64 GB model ended up being the right call.

* At home, I prefer the PC for internet. On the road, phone for quickie lookups. If I'm more settled in, my 14" Chromebook.
