i went to a post-production studio the other day, and saw their computer (not sure PC or Mac) which had this cool thing where a Target/Bullseye surrounded the cursor (to help find it). i got a dual display with sometimes a dark background, so this would be godsend.

i researched and found OmniDazzle and iCursor... but Omni is pricey (for an app like this when it's free in Windoze) and iCursor is not exactly the same. was wondering if any one know of other alternatives.

it'd be great if i can even assign it to the mouse, cuz i have a Microsoft (yikes) Noteboook Laser Wireless 6000, which has an extra button at the thumb. this'll be perfect...

help!

On my Windows machines, I just hit the control key and get the bullseye effect to locate the cursor.

Just found this in VersionTracker.

By the way, this probably doesn't help you out but it can be fun all the same. You can change the cursor size in the Universal Access pane of System Preferences, aptly under the Mouse tab. :)

rdowns, thank you for the link. it's great that this app is freeware, and works with both PPC and Intel.

mad jew, i've definitely contemplated that option, but i don't think i'd like a constant gigantic mouse over my screen..

i posted this in other forums, and another possibility is Boinx Mousepose. i haven't demo'd yet, but i'll give it a whirl later to see which works better.

thx again.

Edit: we have a winner!

Mouse Locator is exactly what i need! it allows me to configure my thumb mouse button to become the target. and it's free! plus doesn't seem like it takes any resources at all. just PERFECT.

thank you so much rdowns!!!
