targus usb data transfer cable software crashing

hi,

i recently bought the targus usb data transfer cable
and everytime i connect the cable to my mac and to my pc the pc side software loads without any problems, but on the mac side the software keeps crashing, it loads in the dock and bounces for a few seconds then quits.

i have searched google for an answer and i cannot find any.
