I am completely fine with the notch as is as I don't really notice it much anymore. However, apps in the taskbar started hiding behind it and I had to find a workaround.
I came across a fantastic app called Bartender, which gives one loads of flexibility around what actually sits in the taskbar and when stuff reappears. It is basically a second layer of the taskbar with tons of customisation options. Screenshots attached!
