Would like to see what others are using and how well it works. Does Turbo Tax and other tax software work with an M1 MacBook Pro? Does it work with Ventura? Does anyone use just their iPhone or iPad to do tax returns? How well does that work? Do you download or use web based versions? Just curious for the upcoming tax season.

I run H&R Block on an M1 iMac. No problems but I’m not sure if it runs native or via Rosetta. On the road right now so can’t check. Not a fan of Intuit so won’t use TurboTax.
I had been wondering this, too, how well TurboTax works on an M1 machine with Ventura. Earlier tax returns I did with TurboTax were always on Intel machines and there was no problem. Hoping that with my new M1 machine there won't be any problems this year!
I have not completed my return yet this year, but last year's return worked fine on my 14" MBP... e-file went through and all.
Used FreeTaxUSA for past 5 or so years. Federal Taxes free; State Taxes cost but you do not have to use them for State.
I tend to buy my tax software in December or January as that seems to be when you have the best pricing. So... buy now and then procrastinate?
(oh and for the record: TurboTax this year. Tried H&R last year and was not happy with it: some of their forms were late vs TT had them available weeks earlier)
An earlier discussion around web/iPad/iOS tax filing programs. Gets into the pros/cons with the web versions of the programs (and in most cases, the iOS apps which are just front-ends to web).
Exactly! That's why I use TurboTax and stick with it. I've now picked up a copy of the Deluxe version at Microcenter (computer/software/electronics store) and once I receive the rest of my documents will be ready to tackle the annual chore.
