I bought my iPhone 4 on the Apple Online Store, but the tax calculated is way off. MA's state tax is only 6.25%, yet I was charged nearly double that?!

You pay tax on the full price of the iPhone, not the subsidized price.

next time you order a product online, read what you are paying for. It clearly stated on the ordering page that several states, incl. MA and CA pay tax on the UNBUNDLED price (ie. unsubsidized full retail price). Therfore 6.25% of $599 or whatever model you ordered.
