TB Display USB power question

Hi all...

On my TB display, I use the back usb ports to charge

ipod/iphone with an apple cable

samsung Galaxy note with the supplied usb to mini usb cable.


Now today I picked up a Nike+ Sportswatch GPS.

If I plug the watch band directly into the TB display it charges and syncs.

If I use the included USB extender cable, it is not recognized at all.

I plug the extender cable into my Mac Mini and it is recognized and charges instantly.

Any reason why the extender cable will not work on a TB display?
