Anyone successfully use the monoprice cable to move audio and video from TB/mDP > HDMI? I don't get audio, only video.

That didn't help, though. I connect to an LG LED projector with a built in speaker. Audio is not carried over.

When I connect the projector to a PS3, audio plays fine on the projector.

Did you try it with the same HDMI cable on both your PS3 and Mac?

I am not entirely sure but there seems to be some revisions in HDMI. Like I think the latest one is 1.2? Wonder if you have to get the latest cable as well.

Maybe so. I thought HDMI is all the same, anyway.

HDMI is up to 1.4 now, brought in features like 3D support, Audio Return Channel (ARC), Ethernet over HDMI and 4k (Ultra HD), resolution support, 1080p was the max resolution in 1.3 and below. Each revision tends to see an improvement in audio and picture quality.
