Greetings! I have just returned to the world of Mac (after a long exile) with a purchase of an imac (bought the refurb 24" 2.8 after updates didn't seem worth it) and 500gb Time Capsule. I am sure I'll have questions as I dive into this exciting world, but for this post I am wondering about the new function of a guest sharing network on the TC.
1) How secure is it to leave open really if I leave it unpassword protected - I would like to leave it open as a neighborhood service i guess. Are my systems pretty safe from random neighbors would may choose to do me harm?
2) I am connected through a cable modem. How much really will it slow down my connection having many users (once they find out there's free access) if I try and use at the same time on my primary network?
3) what the best way to track WHO is using my network? Through Airport Util? Is there good software? Widget? Something?
