TC on a network

I have had my TC on my cradle point network via wifi for the last six months. My Verizon USB modem is plugged into the Cradle Point router. Worked perfectly for backup. Always a green light. As of yesterday, I have to have the TC wired to the Cradle Point to get a green light. I realize that there is a new version of Airport Utility and possibly a new version of firmware for the TC. What changed? Can I go back to where this worked. The Cradlepoint is in an unsecured location and it is not feasible to move the TC outside to permit a wired connection.
