TCP Optimizer to improve YouTube Speeds?

You tube buffering times have always been an issue with me both with my IP4 and my old touch 2g. It seems like sometimes I would load videos quickly with no delay and other times I can barely watch 2secs of the video before it stops to buffer. This is primarily with the you tube app. I stream netflix movies/shows all the time and have never had it stall to buffer. Anybody else notice this? Maybe just a spotty signal from the fios router?

Anyway I found the TCP optimizer tweak info linked below and am giving it a try. Seems to load faster but maybe I'm just having a good day. Any negative side effects with this (batt life?) What do you guys think?

im gonna jailbreak just to try this. because youtube on my iDevices is annoying. maybe it's because trying to load the HD video instead of the 360p videos, when i youtube via safari and turn the HQ button off, it's not watchable, the quality is so bad and it's all blocky.

btw i read somewhere that this tweak increases some values and because of that, the network performance is increased but uses more power. that means less battery life. i can cope with it since i have a mophie juice pack.

holy crap boy, it really works! yesterday i tried to load a 12 minutes video on youtube via the youtube app, boy it's so slow, and now after i installed the tweak, running the same video within the youtube app, the progress bar is running right away! hola!!! this is joy!

After a day of use I do see a difference. No more stalling for pages to load in safari. They easily load up without hesitation each time. Also not asingle buffering issue in the YouTube app.

did u notice a less battery life? i jailbreak just to install this TCP Optimizer, so far i have a less battery life, but not that much.

anyway even with less battery life, it's still not as noticeable as when u install a lot of tweaks and mobile substrate stuff.

This really doesn't make any sense. It's not like this tweak runs in the background. It's either all in your head or something else you installed.

it's not in my head, i know my iphone's daily usage and its battery life and this tweak makes it has less battery life, but like i said, not so noticeable that makes me want to remove it.

I kept getting the time out error also, Error POSIX. Then it worked once, now its back to the same error.

After I installed this, on wifi, my speedtest result drop 50%.

Speedtest tests seem to be normal for me. Certainly not a 50% drop. I pay for a 2.0mb connection, Speedtest is giving me ~1.9mb.

using this has no side effect for me other than a bit of less battery life, and i got a diarhea this morning. is it because of this tweak? LOL

Speedtest speed is normal for me. maybe it's your internet provider was having issue, just try speedtest again later.

I'm going to do a before and after with Speedtest.net myself. If anything, I felt like my YouTube video quality was slightly worse. Subtle things like this are so subjective however. Jury still out for me.

Update: Removed the tweak and got identical results on speedtest. I suppose it can't hurt anything but I didn't notice any improvement either. Leaving it off for now.

I did notice their repo had an update to Saurik's source. I was a little scared to do an update to that from an outside source...so I didn't!

wtf! after i used this for a day, i notice sometimes when loading website, it's stalled, it's like when ur on computer and the internet has request time out. but sometimes it's fast and normal.

is it because of this tweak?
