teaching siri pronunciation of names/contacts?

I just read an article that you can teach siri the pronunciation of names by adding a field in the contact and typing in the phonetic spelling of a name. I got really excited by this, but it seems not to be working for me ...

I have a friend Marcia, pronounced - Mar-SEE-ya. I've tried a bunch of spellings but siri's still not "getting it." Any ideas?

Try "MarSEEa"

The "y" may be throwing it off. Then try "Show contact marSEEa <lastname>"

Thanks... I don't know if this is the issue but just ran across something strange:

Her contact info is NOT in my contact list (even in "all contacts"), but when I search, it IS! ????
