TeamViewer wont work

Installed TeamViewer at work, but i cant seem to be able to log into my iMac at work. The msg is "a connection could not be established". Could the iMac be at sleep therefore not able to connect? How can i wake it remotely, does anyone know? Im using Yosemite both at work and at home.
