Let me just say I love this case. I was skeptical at first after my experience with the Impact Check for the 5s, but Tech21 definitely improved the experience with the 6 Plus iteration. (I’m sure the 6 version is nearly identical to the 6 Plus version).

The design is fantastic. I have the smokey gray color, and I love how the back is somewhat transparent, allowing the back of the iPhone to show. It’s a gel-like TPU material, and it feels quite grippy to me, unlike some of the other cases I’ve tried (which I’ll get to in a sec).

The buttons are fairly easy to press, although the power button takes just a little more force to press than the volume buttons. Not a deal-breaker for me like it was on the 5s version.

There is a small amount of lip/lay-on-the-table protection, which at first made me a little suspicious of its protection. However, when placing a ruler or pencil across the screen, it does not make contact with the display, meaning this is enough of a lip to protect the screen. I can also confirm the same when laying it face down. Just note that it’s not a massive lip, by any means.

It does add some width to the phone due to the D3O material, but it’s not considerable. It doesn’t add much thickness, which is great, considering the 6 Plus is already a massive phone.

For the amount of protection it offers in such a slim design, I can easily recommend this case to anyone looking for a solid case option.

That being said, I’m still holding out for the Speck CandyShell grip, which will be by go-to case once it’s released. But this case will easily get the job done until then, in an attractive and protective package.

A few quick words on some of the other cases I’ve tried so far:

Apple Leather case: great design, slim package, but leaves the bottom exposed. Probably doesn’t have great drop protection. Still a good slim-case option, however.

Incipio DualPro Shine: solid case, great protection, a little bulky and slippery. Was an absolute pain for me to remove, which is why I returned it, since I change cases so often.

Pelican Protector: great, solid case that was my go-to before Tech21. Great feel in the hand, a little bulky, but very protective with great grip. Only problem was installing the case, which was very difficult.

Spigen Neo Hybrid: finally arrived after a month delay. Good fit and feel, offers good protection, but too slippery and was quite difficult to install and remove. The plastic bumper already became damaged after one install/remove. Was impressed at first, but ultimately displeased at the delay, customer service, and quality of the case.

Case-Mate Naked Tough Case: probably the next best option. Love how it's entirely clear. Seems to provide good protection too. Too slippery for me, however.

Griffin Survivor All-Terrain: I’m keeping this case as my go-to for outdoors/gym/whatever. Great protection and feels really good in the hand. Adds a lot of bulk, but that’s to be expected. Only issue is the screen protector, which diminishes screen clarity and the front-facing camera quality. Also the back camera suffers ever-so-slightly from blurriness due to the plastic cover over it. Not as bad as the front-facing camera, though.

Hope this little review/guide helps your case-buying decisions! Bear in mind that YMMV.
