Hi!

First thanks for any guidance you may lend.

I have a older Powerbook G4 1G and my daughter dropped it yesterday  and now the screen is not functioning. I have heard that if the video card was damaged the external monitor function when hooked up won't work is that correct? And, if an external monitor does work it is a screen issue? Currently the external monitor does send the video signal just fine.

Then the next question would be; is it difficult to replace the screen if you are handy and somewhat technically inclined?

Again, thanks for the help.

If the screen doesn't work, a cable or ribbon might have got loose. If you're tech savvy, you can go over to ifixit.com and check out their guides to help you out.
