I need to get 9.2.1 (disc on hand) on G4 After I install 10.3 OVER 10.4 someone stuck on there (and kept classic, barely) along with some cracked adobe stuff so it's "shaky"... this is for an elderly friend...all the .apps should go away - I want to set her up with 10.3 and reliable classic/9
We aim to run 9.2.1 (classic?) for a few applications she needs - mainly wordperfect with its nifty dictionaries she has used foryears (and we do NOT want to wipe out her classic files but can back up on a firewire ex HD I have in case!) she will use mail.app, safari, etc.in 10...
ideal would be to clean (erase) install 10.3 then add 9.2.1 - then copyfiles, re-install wordperfect in classic

That is a fairly garbled post!

Firstly, you'll need 9.2.2 for classic, not 9.2.1.

I don't know how you can downgrade 10.3 from 10.4. I suspect you will need to back-up all files; reinstall 9.2.1 and upgrade to 9.2.2; then install 10.3 and convert to classic.

I am not getting you. It sounds like you want to go to a lot of trouble based on an idea, but not a particularly good one. Why on Earth do you want to downgrade from MacOS X 10.4.x to MacOS X 10.3.x?
