Last weekend i went to an apple service provider (since i'm in a country where there is no apple store) to get my fan checked and hopefully changed.

When i got there, the guy asked me t boot up the my Macbook unibody Pro (5,3) and went to get an Apple Care box. He pulled out the DVD and installed Techtool Deluxe 3.1.2. He ran it, it passed all the tests, except for the last one. It said Volume Structure Problem on my secondary partition (not the startup one) which contains all my files. He clicked Repair. I saw the progress bars get to 100%.

He wanted to run the diagnostic before ordering a new fan.
So he placed an order for the new fan and i left for home.

When i get home, i boot up the laptop and i have this message:

"Mac OS X can't repair the disk "HD2"
You can still open or copy files on the disk, but you can't save changes to files on the disk. Back up the disk and reformat it as soon as you can"

I backup what i can (because most of my files have now dissapeared...)

I run disk utility. It says my drive is damaged and wont repair.

Then i get DiskWarrior and run it. It fixes everything. I'm glad all my files are back.

I run Techtool Deluxe again and it gives me the same error. Of course i dont repair this time.

I run Disk Utility again and the drive show up without error.

Now i'm wondering. Is this a software issue with Snow Leopard and Techtool 3.1.2, or something else i can't think of...

Or is my drive is really damaged ? Should I worry about the safety/integrity of my Data on my HD2 ?

Thank you for your input.

EDIT: I updated to the latest version 3.1.3 and now every test were passed with success. I guess my HD isn't dying after all.

EDIT2: Some of my files are missing. I can restore most of them from a backup, it not much of a problem. But should i be worried about my drive...?
