Okay. I've seen the ads for months (is it pushing a year already?). "TechTool Pro 5... coming soon!"

My ass!

This is a classic case of vaporware. "Buy TechTool Pro 4 now... get a TechTool Pro 5 DVD upgrade FREE." Micromat appears to be robbing Peter to pay Paul.

Duff-Man says....if you had bothered to actually look at Micromat's TT Pro 5 webpage you'd have seen that it says "ships in late November 2008" so your whole vaporware theory is nothing but FUD...oh yeah!

I believe their ads last Spring said it was coming out this Summer, if I'm not mistaken. I wouldn't call it vaporware yet, but it does appear to have slipped by a few months.

Another slip of a few months and I'd say that the 'vaporware' label was starting to look justified...

I bought my TechTul Five at MacWorld back in January
I was given a disc with TT 4 and promised an upgrade to TT 5 in May.
I thought they meant May 2008, but I guess I misunderstood

Just checked the site and it still says "Buy a full version 4 now and get a free DVD upgrade to version 5 when it ships in late December, 2008!"

It's January 2009.

According to the current copy of MacLife, They only advertise Pro 5 now, not 4 with an update.

Edit - *Includes free upgrade to version 5 when it ships!
(Expected release is around mid January, 2009)

I stopped at their booth at MacWhirled to ask and they handed me my Tech Tool 5 disc right there (after looking me up to confirm that I had purchased the upgrade)
So, it is OUT!
