Ted Lasso, Roy Kent, and the AFC Richmond team will be available in FIFA 23 when it launches on September 30, EA Games announced today. The characters are from hit Apple TV+ show "Ted Lasso," and will be fully playable.

Along with Ted Lasso and Roy Kent, popular characters that include Coach Beard, Jamie Tartt, Dani Rojas, Sam Obisanya, and Isaac McAdoo will be integrated into the game, as will the Nelson Road Stadium, the home ground for AFC Richmond.

Coach Beard and Ted Lasso himself will be available as a playable manager in Career Mode, or AFC Richmond can be swapped into the Premier League or any other playable Career Mode league. The team will also be available in Kick-Off, Online Friendlies, and Online Seasons.

EA says that players can show their love for AFC Richmond with customization items that include authentic kits and TIFOS. FIFA 23 is set to launch worldwide on September 30, and it will be available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One, PC, and Stadia.

It's a clever marketing tie in, but in a bit of irony, the game won't be available on any Apple platforms.

Ouch. This is a good point and one that Apple needs to seriously take notice of.

And a stripped down Apple Arcade version would not count, for the record.

I would like to see it for the M1/M2 series of processors...
That will definitely prove how good these are.
Mac’s still get subpar ports at the best, most of which run on Rosetta rather than being optimized for Apple silicon.

This is still cool and exciting. I’m not traditionally a FIFA fan, but I’d happily play for the Ted Lasso tie-in and hopefully some new quips from the actors.

I am betting that there is no way in a million years that Jason Sudeikis would have thought he would ever be in a video game.
I assume you mean as himself with his face, and yeah I agree no way he saw that coming.

Fun fact though, his voice has been in a video game before, he played a character in GTA IV.

I would even purchase Xbox Controllers to play it.
We need games and apps that will remind me and justify why I spend about $4k on a M1 Max MBP.
