What MacBook Pro do you have? Specs?
What are the specs of the iPad 2 (size, color, 3G?), and the MacBook Air?

early 2011 macbook pro good condition 2.3 i5 4GB moutain lion 320 gig GB hdd
the macbook air=3 inch. Whit 128 ssd hard drive running lion
i also travel alot and go to school was thinking the macbook air would be better road warrior type and the iPad just a plus? not sure on the specs on the ipad i think its a white 32gb but not sure

I agree at least a 2010 MBA. OP, I would just keep what you have as it not worth to trade for the old air and iPad 2.
The MacBook Pro is the ultimate road warrior, much better than a MacBook Air because it has a full voltage processor (not Ultra Low Voltage like the MBA) and it also has a DVD drive, which I still find useful if you don't have a main desktop. Also the specs of that MacBook Air are pretty dated by today's standards.
Don't get an old MacBook Air - The first couple of generations really sucked... They were underpowered and overpriced.
