1. Please only post if YOU have DONE this and are using a phone with no data plan.

2. How does one do it?

3. Does it work on all versions of the Iphone?

My father in law in using his Iphone that was given to him as a hand me down and just simply replaced his SIM card. He has never changed plans. He has never gotten warnings or text messages from ATT. His payment has been the same the whole time.

You can use a GoPhone plan without data. It works just like any other phone: get the SIM, activate it, put it in.

Well I asked that you posted off experience not criticism. I want it since it has cool apps and I have a MiFi from Verizon and get internet where ever I go.

I"m in Canada, so this may not be of interest to you.

My 8GB iPhone 3G is locked to Rogers, not jailbroken. I use a Speak-Out wireless PAYG sim, available at 7-11 or Petro-Canada. They don't offer data or MMS, only voice and text.
