no surprises there. after all their bitching and holding out Telstra folds like the fools they are and tries to crawl back some market share. Interestingly they are the last carrier in their region to announce availability and the first to announce pricing. Trying to drum up some interest now that Voda and Otus have all the pre-registrations !

Winn also said, "You can pretty much be assured that Nokia, Motorola, Samsung, Sony Ericsson and ZTE and others will be coming out with devices that have similar functionality. I think people overreacted to it - there was not a lot of tremendously new stuff if you think about it. It was maybe kind of cool on the touchscreen technology but touchscreen technology is another domain, so it's only a matter of time before it went to the device. They did an exclusive with Cingular and they talked about a global rollout - well, Cingular is not a global company".

Typical Telstra braggadocio. They are such loud mouths, no wonder everyone in Australia is keen to migrate away from them.

I'm saddened yet happy that I only got a new phone on the Saturday just gone; I really didn't want to wait around to find out if Telstra was definitely carrying the iPhone long after my old phone died, though I'm also glad I did get a new one as I'm a prepaid customer and would not get in on a contract (Telstra is the only network available where I live...)
