Wow, if this happens sometime I'd be extremely happy.

Thanks for pointing that out, and... any update?

Hopefully we hear something in the coming weeks. Rogers has been unlocking their devices for a few weeks now already.

honestly, it's probably not going to be all that great.

it's likely going to be the same policy as Rogers

if you want to unlock your iPhone, you need to cancel your contract (if you're on one).

so $500(cancellation including data)+$50(unlock fee) = $550

plus you paid $159 for the phone (let's assume) = over $700 after taxes.

might as well go and buy the phone from Apple unlocked.

Im not on contract and i own my iphone !

I don't care paying 10$-50$ to get it unlocked.
(10$ on website selling unlocking codes and 50$ directly from telus)

Big total: 10-50 $

Maan' I really wish AT&T would do this, I would still sign a contract, just that when I go out of the country I don't have to buy a Cheesy phone that I will never use again, it would be so much better to be able to plop a SIM card in for a local carrier...

Just Dreamin'
