So I have a brand new mbp 2011, about 3 weeks old. Just installed Lion OSX and I was randomly scanning a webpage and my laptop was heating up and the fans were pretty loud...

any ideas? never did this with snow leopard just by browsing safari

i just got mine too, do you find that the laptop is kinda loud?

you can faintly hear the fan and processer even when just browsing safari.

I installed early yesterday morning so it can't possibly be 'indexing' still.

My i7 iMac's fan is going crazy and it's hot as hell.

The process called 'mdworker' is responsible for spotlight indexing. If you've move files around or done a fresh install you might see, when you open up activity monitor, that it's taking up a lot of CPU. Best thing is to just let it finish.

I had a crazy high flash player sucking up tons. Computer is still grinding away though.
