I have a 2011 MacBook Air 11" 1.6/128GB. At 81* Celcius the fan is still at 2000 RPM. Does anyone know at what temperature the fan speed should start picking up? Thanks

Around 86 or 90. Hold on to it though. My i7 was up there too but after a few days of use now it idles at 39c. That thermal paste needs time to settle. I almost took mine back but its awesome now. Give it the full 14 days of use and if it doesn't settle down then swap it.

That is interesting.

I posted in another thread about the high temps I was getting in Handbrake. Maybe now after having the laptop for 9 days I should test again and see how they have dropped.

I love this laptop (13" i7 256GB) the rare times I've seen high temps is when I'm doing processor heavy stuff. Secure empty trash, encoding, creating a bootable ISO for Windows 7.

Thanks for the info. I have a week left so I will keep checking it
